On December 22, the 2025 Green Home Furnishing Industry Guangyuan Development Conference was held in Guangyuan, Sichuan. With the theme of Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Life, Carbon Benefits the Future, the conference attracted more than 500 participants, including home furnishing industry experts and enterprise representatives from across the country. A total of 40 home furnishing cooperation agreements were signed on site, with a total value of RMB 11.463 billion.

At the conference, Li Jianjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangyuan Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, introduced that Guangyuan, as the only city in Sichuan designated as a development base for the distinctive green home furnishing industry, is concentrating efforts to build a RMB 50 billion green home furnishing industrial cluster and accelerate the construction of a famous green home furnishing city in western China. It has already cultivated 93 home furnishing manufacturing and supporting enterprises above designated size, forming multiple industrial chains including panel furniture, solid wood furniture, and aluminum furniture. Its products cover categories such as high-end restaurant furniture, eco-friendly panels, and doors and windows. He noted that Guangyuan is located in the heartland of Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Chongqing, radiating a market of about 200 million people. It enjoys the advantage of being a national comprehensive transportation hub and has already launched international timber freight trains. The city has built industrial parks covering more than 10,000 mu and supporting standardized factory buildings. Facilities such as shared coating centers and raw and auxiliary materials trading centers are gradually being improved, while support is also provided in policies, factor support, and customized talent training, forming a development layout coordinated across the whole city with specialized clusters in each county and district.

Yuan Bing, Chief Economist of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, said that Sichuan has listed the green building materials industrial chain as one of the province's key industrial layouts and supports places such as Guangyuan in making the green home furnishing industry bigger and stronger. At present, there are more than 600 green home furnishing enterprises above designated size in the province, with annual output value approaching RMB 30 billion, a local supporting rate exceeding 85 percent, and multiple smart factories and digital production lines already built. In the future, Sichuan will further enhance industrial concentration, innovation, and greening, and promote Sichuan-style home furnishings to expand beyond the province and go global.

Guo Pande, General Manager of Luli Group Co., Ltd. and a participating enterprise representative, shared confidence in investing in Guangyuan. The company has already invested RMB 6.4. billion in Guangyuan to build a green digital-intelligent home furnishing industrial park, and recently added another RMB 1.8. billion to launch extension projects. He believes Guangyuan's transportation location, market reach, forestry resources, and business environment provide good conditions for enterprise development.

At the conference, Professor Wu Zhihui, founding dean of the School of Home Furnishing and Industrial Design at Nanjing Forestry University, delivered a keynote speech exploring the integration of the home furnishing industry and the development trend of green intelligent manufacturing under the background of new quality productive forces.

At the conference, the Guangyuan Green Intelligent Home Furnishing Collaborative Innovation Center was officially established. The center was jointly built by the China Wood Protection Industry Association, Zhaohua District of Guangyuan City, Beijing Forestry University, and other parties, with the aim of collaboratively promoting industrial innovation.

In recent years, Guangyuan's green home furnishing industry has developed rapidly. In 2024, the output value of home furnishing enterprises above designated size reached RMB 5.29 billion, up 10.6. percent year on year, and is expected to exceed RMB 6. billion in 2025. At present, the city has gathered 5. specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products and 13 innovative enterprises.
